Ellesse, History of sports fashion.
Ellesse is a brand of sportswear founded in the late sixties by Leonardo Servadio in Umbria in the city of Perugia.
The name Ellesse was born from the initials of Servadio. A great name for a legendary brand.
Ellesse was growing and greatly increased its popularity during the 1970s thanks to its designs and especially for having started to produce technical ski clothing, such as padded jackets and ski pants.
In 1979, Ellese created the Ellesse's Jet Pant, a ski pants with padded reinforcement on the knees and a wide leg of the pants to obtain a perfect adaptation to the ski boots.
These trousers were included in an event at the Pompidou Center in Paris, it was their consolidation and a recognition of Italian design.
Another of the sports with which Ellesse has been intimately and closely linked since its inception in the year nineteen hundred and fifty-nine is tennis.
In fact, the Ellesse logo is a direct reference to a tennis ball and the shape of the tips of a pair of skis.
Tennis and skiing intimately linked thanks to Ellesse.
Throughout the seventies and eighties, Ellesse was a benchmark and won the difficult reputation of combining the functionality of sportswear with a street-style fashion.
They were pioneers and also one of the first brands of sportswear that began to highlight their logo on the outside of their garments.
In mid-nineteen eighty, the famous French designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac collaborated and worked with Ellesse, an early collaboration between a sportswear company and a fashion designer giving samples of good taste and style.
The casuals of the United Kingdom adopted the brand in the 80s when the first quality sportswear took off in all British culture.
Ellesse began to set a trend in the sixties and is now within your reach.
